Apple's WWDC 2026: Siri gets Gemini AI, standalone app, and agent store

Apple’s WWDC 2026 keynote, starting Monday at 10 a.m. PT, is expected to deliver a transformative AI update across its ecosystem. The centerpiece is Siri’s long-awaited revamp, leveraging Google’s Gemini technology to become more conversational, context-aware, and capable of handling multi-step tasks across apps. A leaked standalone Siri app would directly compete with ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, offering auto-delete conversation timers (30 days, 1 year, or indefinite). Additionally, Apple may introduce an AI agent app store—enabling users to delegate tasks like booking reservations, managing smart homes, or editing documents.

Beyond Siri, the Camera app gets a dedicated “Visual Intelligence” mode (replacing the Camera Control button feature) that uses Google Image Search to identify objects. The Photos app will gain AI-powered scene recommendations, automatic object removal, and natural-language photo editing. Image Playground receives higher-quality generation, more styles, character consistency, and a “describe a change” option. Wallet updates include bill-splitting by photographing receipts and creating digital passes from physical items. MacOS, iPadOS, visionOS, watchOS, and tvOS will see deeper AI integration and stability improvements.
