Daydream's New AI Shops Outfits Straight From Your Camera Roll

See a cute outfit online? Now you can buy it in seconds, no searching.

Deep Dive

Daydream is a free iPhone app that helps you find and buy clothes using AI (software that can look at pictures and understand them). On Monday it added two new features, both built with Apple's brand-new iOS 27 tools. The first one works on photos you already have. If you screenshot an outfit you liked on Instagram or Pinterest, Daydream can look at that image, break it into individual pieces — a sweater, pants, shoes, a bag — and then hunt through its catalog of about 3 million products to find the exact item or something close to it. If the original item is sold out, it suggests similar options instead. You can even ask for changes, like "I like this sweater, but in red."

The second feature skips the app entirely. You talk to Siri — Apple's voice assistant — and ask for what you want. "Hey Siri, search Daydream for a cool blazer for my board meeting on Monday" actually works. Results get personalized if you've filled out Daydream's "Style Passport," which stores your sizes, favorite brands, style preferences, and budget.

So what does this mean for you? Mostly time. Instead of describing a shirt in Google, scrolling through dozens of pages, and hoping something matches, you point at a picture and let the software do the hunting. Daydream says it pulls from over 325 retailers and 10,000 brands, including Uniqlo, J.Crew, Anthropologie, Nordstrom, and Gucci. The company reports more than 1.5 million shoppers already use it.

The catch: you need a newer iPhone running iOS 27 with Siri AI switched on, and Daydream installed. It's also one of many AI shopping tools now arriving from Google, Amazon, and smaller startups, so accuracy and trustworthiness will decide who wins. Daydream's bigger goal is a full shopping assistant that understands your taste everywhere you go, not just inside one app.
