Grok Models Just Went Native on Databricks — Here's Why Enterprise AI Agents Are About to Get Smarter

xAI's Grok models have expanded their enterprise footprint with a native integration into Databricks Agent Bricks, announced live at the Databricks 2026 Data + AI Summit on June 18, 2026. The integration allows developers to build AI agents that can reason directly over enterprise data stored in the Databricks Lakehouse—without routing that data through external pipelines. This reduces friction for Fortune 500 teams already running data workflows on Databricks. Crucially, Databricks has confirmed that model partners like xAI do not retain submitted data, using zero-retention endpoints, and Databricks does not train foundation models on customer data from its AI assistive features—a meaningful governance guarantee for enterprise buyers.

This deal is the latest in a rapid cloud expansion for xAI: Grok previously landed on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (June 2025), Microsoft Azure AI Foundry (September 2025), and Amazon Bedrock. The model available is xAI's current flagship, grok-4.3, a reasoning model with a 1-million-token context window and a knowledge cutoff of December 2025, priced at $1.25 per million input tokens and $2.50 per million output tokens via the general API. A coding-focused variant, grok-build-0.1, costs $1.00 input / $2.00 output. By embedding Grok natively inside the Databricks environment rather than requiring a separate API call, xAI removes a key adoption barrier. While adoption against incumbents like Claude and Gemini remains to be seen, the infrastructure groundwork is being laid fast.
