Votiverse: A Configurable Governance Platform for Democratic Decision-Making
Liquid democracy meets prediction markets in open-source governance
Votiverse, created by Diego Macrini, is an open-source governance platform designed to let organizations, communities, and institutions explore the full spectrum of democratic decision-making. The platform moves beyond traditional one-size-fits-all voting systems, allowing participants to vote directly, delegate their vote to trusted individuals by topic, or operate under any hybrid arrangement the group defines. Delegations are revocable, topic-specific, and transitive, with direct votes always overriding delegations. This makes traditional representative democracy just one edge case in a configurable system.
Votiverse introduces two key innovations: a governance awareness layer that monitors the delegation network and delivers contextual, progressive-disclosure reporting to participants at the point of decision, and a prediction-tracking accountability layer where proposals carry falsifiable predictions. Outcomes are recorded, building a collective memory of decisions, promises, and results. This transforms voting from a momentary act into an ongoing process of collective learning. The platform, released as open source, formalizes the governance model and addresses known failure modes in liquid democracy.
- Votiverse offers configurable governance from direct democracy to delegated representation with topic-specific, revocable delegations
- Includes a prediction-tracking accountability layer where proposals carry falsifiable predictions for transparency
- Governance awareness layer provides contextual, progressive-disclosure reporting to participants at decision points
Why It Matters
