Vocci's $249 AI ring just hit the US market, aimed at anyone who hates taking meeting notes. Double-tap the single button and it starts recording. It weighs about as much as a paperclip, picks up voices from up to five meters away, and claims eight hours of continuous recording. The carrying case adds three more full charges. The pitch: wear it, forget it, let AI write up your meetings.

The clever part is how it talks to other AI. Vocci uses something called MCP — a standard that lets assistants like ChatGPT and Claude look things up in outside tools. In plain English: you can tell your AI assistant to search your Vocci recordings when past meetings would help. But the connection is read-only. The AI can read your notes, not change or delete them. And it only searches when you ask, or when you set up standing instructions in advance.

There are real catches. Full features need a subscription: $15.99 a month for Plus or $29.99 for Pro. The free plan caps recordings at four hours and gives just 300 minutes of transcription. More importantly, Vocci has no team accounts — so companies can't control who has access or what happens when someone leaves. Since it's a physical recorder, businesses also need their own rules about asking permission and who owns the recordings. Vocci says recordings stick around until you delete them or close your account.

Bottom line: it's a promising gadget for individuals who sit through lots of in-person meetings. But if you're buying for a whole team, hold off — the management and privacy tools simply aren't there yet.
