OpenAI integrates Codex into ChatGPT, launches 6 business plugins

OpenAI is bringing its Codex agentic coding capabilities directly into the ChatGPT app, with integration expected within the next few weeks. The move aims to bridge the gap between the two products, making Codex’s advanced functionality more accessible to the millions of businesses already using ChatGPT. During a livestream called Intelligence at Work, the company also debuted six new business-focused plugins for Codex, covering data analytics, creative production, sales, product design, public equity investing, and investment banking. These plugins integrate with tools like Snowflake, Databricks, Figma, Canva, Salesforce, Slack, Moody’s, and FactSet, enabling teams to automate workflows, generate reports, create assets, and analyze markets directly within Codex.

In addition to plugins, OpenAI highlighted two new features: annotations and sites. Annotations allow users to select specific parts of a document, code, or slide and request targeted refinements without starting over—enhancing iteration speed. The sites feature lets business and enterprise customers create and share interactive, hosted websites and apps directly from Codex. These updates position Codex as a full-stack productivity platform, moving beyond its original coding focus to support a wide range of business tasks. The integration into ChatGPT is expected to make these tools even more mainstream for enterprise users.
