Mistral AI launches Vibe: one AI agent for work and code

Mistral AI has launched Vibe, an AI agent unifying work and code capabilities under a single license, replacing the earlier Le Chat brand. Vibe introduces Work Mode for complex, multi-stage tasks that require planning: it maps out a plan, gets user approval, then autonomously executes across integrated tools such as Google Workspace, Outlook, SharePoint, Slack, GitHub, and custom connectors. Features include enterprise knowledge search, structured data analysis with chart rendering, document and report synthesis via Canvas, scheduled multi-step tasks, and reusable skills via open standards. This turns hours of administrative work into a single prompt, and for organizations, it runs business processes grounded in existing documents and permissions.

Code Mode extends Vibe to software development, offering remote coding agents from a dedicated web surface and a new VS Code extension that works across entire projects. The agent can create pull requests, review code, and automate workflows inside the IDE. All existing Le Chat users automatically carry over their conversations, settings, and plans. With Vibe, Mistral positions itself as an enterprise-ready alternative to other AI agents, combining administrative automation with developer productivity in one platform.
