The Li Ka Shing Foundation, founded by Hong Kong tycoon Li Ka-shing, has teamed up with The Walt Disney Company for a new community initiative: offering 24,000 foreign domestic helpers complimentary tickets to Toy Story 5. The screenings will take place across four consecutive Sundays in August (9, 16, 23, and 30) at six Broadway Circuit cinema locations in Tsuen Wan, Taikoo Shing, Mong Kok, Kwun Tong, Central, and Yuen Long. Attendees will also receive free popcorn, drinks, and a souvenir from Hong Kong Disneyland, adding a festive touch to the movie experience.
Registration opens at 9pm on Wednesday via the online ticketing platform Klook, with tickets allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The foundation noted that over the past three years, its partnership with Disney has already welcomed some 13,000 domestic helpers to Hong Kong Disneyland. This latest move extends that support to cinema entertainment, giving migrant workers a chance to relax and enjoy a family-friendly film.
