ByteDance Introduces Seedance 2.0 Video Extend on WaveSpeedAI for Seamless AI Video Continuations

ByteDance has introduced Seedance 2.0 Video-Extend, an AI video continuation model that solves the persistent problem of seamless clip extension. Unlike earlier approaches that re-encode entire videos or create abrupt jumps, Seedance 2.0 generates a new segment directly from the last frame of your input. It accepts a video URL and a natural-language prompt to control camera movement, lighting changes, and character performance. The output concatenates the original clip with the generated continuation, preserving native audio across both halves. Key technical specs include a new segment duration of 4 to 15 seconds (default 5), resolutions from 480p to 1080p, automatic aspect ratio matching, and an optional last_image parameter for interpolation guidance. The model uses frame-conditioned diffusion to maintain color, lighting, and subject consistency, producing results where the camera simply keeps moving and the world evolves without visible cuts.

The model is accessible via a REST API on WaveSpeedAI with no cold starts and pay-per-use billing based only on the generated segment's duration.
