The buzziest names in world models, Yann LeCun's AMI Labs and Fei-Fei Li's World Labs, have accumulated a lot of buzz and funding — and rank pretty low on the trying-to-make-money scale. World models are about automating spatial intelligence, with potential directions from robotics to interactive video to self-driving. But ask what these companies are actually building and things get foggy. AMI co-founder Michael Rabbat was cagey on a panel: "We'll talk about it when we're ready to talk about it."
