In tests, it was much better at explicitly mentioning trade-offs (like "cheaper energy now vs. safer planet later") and acknowledging uncertainty ("we don't know exactly how fast ice will melt"). That matters because real climate decisions are full of unknowns.

The researchers also see Fuxi-Climate as a foundation for "agents" — AI that can run simulations, compare policies, and help leaders explore "what if" scenarios. Imagine a city planner asking: "What if we tax carbon and invest in solar?" The AI can outline costs, benefits, and risks in a structured way.

Is it perfect? No. It's still an AI and can't truly understand human politics. But this is a big step toward AI that helps us think through hard choices — not just predict the weather. And it's openly available for anyone to try.
