New AI Helps Students with Disabilities Plan Their Future

Trinity is a friendly AI that sits down with high school students who have disabilities and helps them plan what comes next. Instead of filling out boring paperwork, students just have a conversation with the AI about their strengths, interests, and goals. It then builds a customized plan for college, a job, or living independently—all aligned with U.S. education laws.

The AI was built by University Startups, a nonprofit that works with students across America. They teamed up with tech experts to make sure the tool is private, accurate, and easy to use. Parents, teachers, and disability specialists can also access the plans to stay on the same page.

Getting this right wasn’t easy. The team had to teach the AI to understand complex rules about disabilities, suggest real opportunities near where students live, and keep all student information ultra-safe. They solved these problems by splitting the AI into smaller parts (called “agents”) that handle different tasks, like finding schools or checking legal requirements.

So far, Trinity has already helped students in over a dozen U.S. states. Now, it’s starting to work with schools in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, showing how a simple idea can change lives across the world.
