Now researchers have built an AI system that can predict when you're losing your balance in VR almost 97% of the time. They found that body motion patterns, especially from the legs and torso, were the strongest clues. Even when they cut a third of the sensor data, the AI still stayed highly accurate.

The catch? This is still research, not yet a product. You'd need to wear sensors to get these signals, and most VR headsets don't have them built in. But the idea points toward a future where your headset and a few smart sensors could quietly watch your stability — and step in before you take an unintended tumble.
