Open Robotics scales ROSCon Global with 53 sponsors and 9 regional events

Open Robotics is gearing up for its biggest ROSCon season yet. The organization reports 53 sponsors and counting for ROSCon Global, all requiring logistics coordination and community introductions. Nine regional ROSCons are scheduled in the coming months, with local teams receiving support from the home office to strengthen regional open-source robotics networks. ROSCon JP has already kicked off, featuring keynotes from Tully (ROS veteran and family) and Prof. Bill Smart, a long-time ROS contributor. The event highlights the growing global footprint of ROS and the increasing corporate investment in open-source robotics infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the AI for Industry Challenge wrapped up with 25 submissions, making judging a tough but rewarding process. Open Robotics also launched new projects, including an updated OSRA website with a contributor guide and job board for members. They are refreshing their social media and YouTube channel to feature community member work. These efforts signal a shift toward greater community engagement and professional infrastructure, positioning open-source robotics as a serious force in enterprise AI and automation.
