This $7,999 robot will fold (some of) your laundry

A new $7,999 laundry-folding robot is here, but it's far from fully autonomous...

Deep Dive

Startup Weave has launched Isaac 0, a $7,999 stationary robot designed to fold laundry. It takes 30-90 minutes per load and cannot handle large blankets, sheets, or inside-out clothes. Crucially, it is not fully autonomous and requires remote human teleoperators to assist with complex folds. The robot is currently only available in the Bay Area and represents the latest push to bring chore-eliminating robots into homes.

Why It Matters

It shows how far domestic robots still have to go before achieving true, reliable autonomy in messy real-world tasks.
