Anthropic has launched 'fast mode' for its Claude Code AI assistant, offering significantly quicker responses from the Opus model for tasks like live debugging. The speed comes from a different API configuration, not a new model, so output quality is identical. However, it costs more: pricing starts at $30 per 150 million input tokens. A 50% discount is available until February 16 for all subscription plan users.
