Cursor by SpaceX launches iOS app for mobile AI coding agents

Cursor, the AI-powered code editor reportedly acquired by SpaceX, has launched a public beta of its first iPhone and iPad app. The app brings AI coding agent supervision to mobile, letting paid subscribers start, monitor, and review cloud-based coding tasks without keeping a laptop open. Developers can launch agents on virtual machines, inspect proposed changes via screenshots and diffs, merge pull requests, and even converse with agents using voice. Push notifications alert users when an agent needs feedback, and Live Activities on the lock screen show real-time progress. The app also supports remote control for agents running on local machines, enabling developers to step away from their desk while staying in the loop.
Cursor's co-founder Chris Browder described the app as a bridge between local and cloud-based agent workflows, with the long-term goal of making the two environments indistinguishable. The company is also working on more flexible AI chats that don't require full codebase context and plans to integrate with tools like Datadog and Slack via the Model Context Protocol. The iOS beta is free for all paid Cursor subscribers, and a limited-time promotion offers 75% off Composer 2.5 runs through July 5, 2026. An Android version has not been announced.
