Solos AirGo A6 smart glasses weigh just 19 grams, ditch camera for AI voice assistant

At 19g, the new AirGo A6 are half the weight of last year’s model and camera-free.

Deep Dive

Solos has unveiled the AirGo A6, the latest iteration of its camera-less smart glasses that prioritize a sleek, lightweight design and voice-based AI interactions. Weighing approximately 19 grams, the A6 is nearly half the weight of the previous AirGo A5 (36-40g) and significantly lighter than competitors like the new Meta Glasses (54-60g). The weight savings come from thinner temple arms that still house speakers, batteries, and electronics. The glasses are available in multiple frame styles, including transparent options that reveal the internal components, and they support full prescription lens compatibility. Pricing and availability have not been finalized.

Despite lacking a camera, the AirGo A6 packs a suite of hands-free AI features. Users can interact with a voice assistant for answering questions, accessing real-time translations, and setting calendar reminders. Built-in speakers positioned behind the ears allow for private music listening or phone calls while maintaining situational awareness. Alongside the A6, Solos also introduced privacy accessories for last year's AirGo V2 model, including $39 non-powered replacement temples and a $49 clip-on privacy shield that physically blocks the camera, plus a $79 bundle with clip-on sunglasses.

Key Points
  • AirGo A6 weighs 19 grams, down from 36-40g for the A5 and far lighter than the 54-60g Meta Glasses.
  • No camera; relies entirely on voice for AI assistant, real-time translation, and calendar reminders.
  • Speakers behind ears enable music and calls while staying aware of surroundings; full prescription lens support.

Why It Matters

Solos proves AI smart glasses don’t need cameras to be useful, offering a lighter, privacy-focused alternative.
