Amazon Quick Automate adds native case management for scaling agentic workflows
Track millions of AI agent work items with built-in state management and human-in-the-loop
Amazon Quick Automate, part of Amazon Quick, now natively combines AI agents and workflow orchestration with case management—solving the core challenge of running agentic workflows at enterprise scale. Each work item becomes a persistent case with a defined lifecycle: creation, processing, and resolution. Cases carry a user-defined type (e.g., invoices, claims), a unique reference ID, and custom key-value data fields. The system automatically tracks status, failure points, and execution logs, giving operators real-time visibility into every step. When an agent needs human judgment, the workflow seamlessly enters a human-in-the-loop (HITL) step. Cases can be processed in parallel to meet SLAs, and the architecture supports dynamic scaling through a case creator-processor pattern.
For compliance and governance, every action—state transitions, decisions, exceptions—is recorded as part of the case history, replacing fragmented email threads with centralized collaboration. Before starting, users need an Amazon Quick Enterprise license and must work in a specific AWS Region. The result is that complex, long-running processes move reliably from initiation to resolution, with clear ownership, faster bottleneck detection, and fewer lost handoffs. This makes Quick Automate a practical choice for enterprises looking to move agent prototypes into production without sacrificing control or visibility.
