Researcher shares 1,700 arXiv papers with AI-powered synthesis tool

A dedicated researcher has transformed a personal Obsidian vault of 1,700+ arXiv whitepapers into a public, richly cross-linked resource at inquiringlines.com. The collection, started after ChatGPT's launch, was originally compiled as Word excerpts and later migrated to Obsidian, where papers were organized into 90 categories. These categories emerged organically from paper topics, covering methods, models, and techniques in AI research.

To overcome context limitations when using ChatGPT for synthesis, the creator added a plugin to build inbound and outbound wikilinks across papers based on shared concepts. A final layer of synthesis, called 'Inquiring Lines,' provides 6,000 pages that surface tensions, frontiers, and cross-cutting research frames. Each Inquiring Line includes prompts that automatically find related and newer research, making the collection dynamically useful. The result is a structured yet flexible knowledge base for professionals tracking AI developments.
