Protecting Context and Prompts: Deterministic Security for Non-Deterministic AI
Researchers propose a cryptographic fix for AI's biggest security flaw.
A new research paper introduces cryptographic primitives to finally solve the LLM prompt injection problem. The system uses 'authenticated prompts' and 'authenticated context' to create tamper-evident, verifiable provenance for all AI inputs. The authors formalize a policy algebra with four theorems providing protocol-level Byzantine resistance. In evaluations against six exhaustive attack categories, the approach achieved 100% detection with zero false positives and nominal overhead, shifting security from reactive to preventative.
Why It Matters
This could eliminate a critical vulnerability blocking enterprise AI adoption, enabling secure agentic workflows.
