Principles of Intelligence is hiring

The AI safety research organization Principles of Intelligence (PrincInt) has announced a major hiring push with a March 22, 2026, deadline. The most urgent need is for contract Research Engineers and Scientists to join the Ambitious Mech Interp (AMI) division for a sprint toward NeurIPS conference submissions. These temporary roles will focus on developing new unsupervised training methods for reverse engineering AI systems (like SAEs and weight-based decomposition), exploring training-time uses of interpretability tools for safety, and designing neural network architectures that are interpretable by design. Top performers may be considered for full-time positions.

Beyond the sprint, PrincInt is also hiring for permanent Research Engineer and Scientist roles working on the same technical bets. A major leadership opening is for a PIBBSS Fellowship Program Director to set strategy and run global cohorts of AI alignment researchers. Additionally, a Technical Research Manager role, based in-person in London, will oversee the 2026 Iliad and PIBBSS Fellowship programs. The organization is also promoting its partner programs, the Iliad Intensive (taught coursework) and Iliad Fellowship (mentored research), both held in London.
