Blade Runner 2099 Trailer Drops: Replicants Won, Humans Lost

Prime Video has finally given us a full look at Blade Runner 2099, the new sci-fi series coming to the streaming service. The trailer premiered at New York Comic-Con this weekend, with stars Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer on hand to hype up the crowd. The show is set 50 years after the events of Blade Runner 2049, and the big twist is that the replicants—artificial humans—have won their long-threatened uprising. Humans have lost. The series asks a big question: what happens when our time as a species is up?

Michelle Yeoh plays Olwen, a replicant who is dying, while Hunter Schafer (from Euphoria) plays a character named Cora. The showrunner, Silka Luisa, explained that the first film was about one replicant fighting for more life, but this series looks at that same struggle on a global scale. It's about humanity facing its own extinction and wondering if we can hold onto our humanity as we go. The cast also includes Hugo Hamlet and several other actors in undisclosed roles.

All eight episodes of Blade Runner 2099 will be released on November 25, 2026. That's a little over a year away, so mark your calendars.
