AWS's Field Advisor on Bedrock AgentCore orchestrates 20+ sales agents

Sales reps ditch context-switching with a single AI interface for 20 specialized agents.

Deep Dive

AWS Sales faced agent proliferation: over 20 specialized agents for CRM, meeting scheduling, customer insights, product recommendations, and compliance. Sales reps had to manually choose which agent to use and context-switch between systems. To solve this, AWS built Field Advisor on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, a central orchestration layer that routes natural language requests to the right agent or tool, maintains session and long-term memory, and coordinates approval workflows. AgentCore provides isolated execution environments for secure multi-tenancy, a unified gateway across AWS accounts, persistent context (short-term + semantic memory), OAuth identity propagation, and built-in observability and evaluation. This removed the need for custom infrastructure, letting the engineering team focus on domain intelligence.

Field Advisor embeds directly into CRM systems, Slack, and first-party apps. Key workflows include multi-agent orchestration (single interface, no cognitive load), embedded access (AI in daily tools), human-in-the-loop updates (CRM changes require approval), context/memory (remembers preferences across sessions), knowledge base retrieval (instant access to product docs, competitive intel, pricing), and proactive recommendations. The result: faster, more informed responses to global sales needs, with reps spending more time on customer conversations and less on system navigation.

Key Points
  • Field Advisor orchestrates 20+ domain-specific agents (CRM, scheduling, compliance) via a single conversational interface on Bedrock AgentCore.
  • AgentCore provides isolated multi-tenant execution, persistent session + semantic memory, OAuth identity propagation, and built-in observability.
  • Human-in-the-loop workflows require explicit approval for CRM updates, maintaining data accuracy and accountability.

Why It Matters

Orchestrating specialized AI agents without manual switching lets sales teams focus on customers, not tools.
