Policy4OOD: A Knowledge-Guided World Model for Policy Intervention Simulation against the Opioid Overdose Crisis

Researchers have developed Policy4OOD, a knowledge-guided AI world model designed to simulate and optimize public health interventions against the opioid overdose crisis. The model integrates policy knowledge graphs, spatial dependencies, and socioeconomic time series into a policy-conditioned Transformer. It forecasts future outcomes, runs counterfactual analyses on past decisions, and uses Monte Carlo Tree Search to optimize future policy choices, aiming to prevent unintended consequences and save lives through data-driven simulation.
