IE University's School of Science and Technology, through its Cyber-Physical Life research group (cyphy.life), is offering a fully funded 4-year PhD position based in Madrid. This interdisciplinary role sits at the crossroads of robotics, blockchain technologies, and AI-driven creativity. The position provides access to state-of-the-art robotics facilities, collaboration with industry partners in blockchain and AI, and mentorship from experts in cyber-physical systems. The selected candidate will create novel concepts and methodologies combining these fields, execute proofs-of-concept on real-world use cases, and publish findings in top-tier conferences and journals. Occasional teaching in undergraduate courses is also expected.

Applicants must hold an MSc or MEng in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related fields. They should demonstrate a strong interest in interdisciplinary research and possess skills in Robot Operating System (ROS) and blockchain-based technologies such as XRP Ledger, Ethereum EVM, and zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs). Proficiency in Python for prototyping is required, along with strong communication skills.
