Perplexity adds Brain memory, Claude Opus 5, and enterprise controls
Brain memory now supports 15 languages while Claude Opus 5 costs 57% less per task.
Perplexity rolled out a comprehensive platform update across its Enterprise and Max tiers. Enterprise users gain role-based access controls with granular permissions, SCIM group sync from identity providers, and group-level credit usage limits. Custom API credentials allow agents to securely authenticate to unsupported third-party APIs, with credentials stored in a personal vault or shared at the project level without exposing secrets. Brain, Perplexity's self-improving memory system, is now available globally to Max subscribers. It writes wiki pages in 15 languages covering about 90% of Max users, prefills the wiki catalog into every session, and delivered a 10 percentage-point lift on memory benchmarks while cutting internal dissatisfaction on memory-heavy tasks by about 6% (18% at the high end).
Claude Opus 5 is now live across Perplexity Search and Computer, outperforming every model on the WANDR benchmark except Fable 5, while costing 57% less per task — a significant cost-performance improvement for complex reasoning and agentic workflows. Developers can also give Perplexity Agent API agents specialized, composable expertise with Skills, combining built-in capabilities like document generation with inline instructions for custom workflows. Additionally, Computer in Comet Assistant and new session management tools (Check Sources, Source Context Panel) further enhance the platform. These updates position Perplexity as a more powerful, enterprise-ready AI assistant with memory, cost efficiency, and fine-grained control.
