AMD launches $30K AI DevMaster Hackathon with Physical AI track for ROS developers

AMD has opened registration for its AI DevMaster Hackathon, a fully online global competition offering $30,000 in prizes across three innovation tracks: Multimodal AI, Agentic AI, and Physical AI. The Physical AI track is specifically designed for ROS (Robot Operating System) developers and robotics engineers. Projects can focus on robotic manipulation, humanoid robotics, quadruped locomotion, autonomous navigation, or simulation using frameworks like Genesis and MuJoCo. Participants can work individually or in teams of up to three, and registered participants may receive free access to AMD Radeon GPUs and the ROCm software stack for development and inference.
The hackathon runs from July 10 to August 6, 2026, with judging criteria emphasizing GPU acceleration, innovation, and real-world applicability. Each track awards $5,000 for first place, $3,500 for second, and $1,500 for third. Entrants must be members of the AMD AI Developer Program to be eligible for prizes.
