Nvidia just announced PAIR (Personal AI Router), a free open-source tool that makes your home computers share their brainpower for AI tasks. Despite the name, it's not a router — it's software that finds compatible PCs and laptops on your network and connects them into a single, more powerful system. Instead of sending your questions to a cloud service, PAIR lets your own machines handle them together.
Why should you care? Running AI locally usually requires a very expensive graphics card. PAIR lets you spread the work across several ordinary machines — like a gaming desktop and a newer MacBook — so you get more power without buying anything.
