NVIDIA Isaac ROS 4.1 for Thor has arrived
NVIDIA's latest ROS update makes building advanced robots dramatically easier and faster.
NVIDIA has launched Isaac ROS 4.1 for its Jetson AGX Thor platform. This open-source collection of accelerated ROS 2 packages introduces a Docker-optional workflow with new Virtual Environment and Bare Metal modes for easier integration. Key updates include improved LiDAR dynamics and motion compensation in Nvblox, RGB-D camera support for Visual SLAM, a new 3D-printable multi-camera rig, and a gear assembly tutorial for sim-to-real training on a UR10e arm.
Why It Matters
This significantly lowers the barrier for developers to build and deploy sophisticated, perception-enabled robots in real-world environments.
