New Packages for ROS 2 Rolling Ridley 2026-04-28
Major sync unblocks Kilted release with new robotics tools and fixes.
The ROS 2 Rolling Ridley distribution has been updated with a significant sync on April 28, 2026, bringing 125 new packages and 843 updates to the ecosystem. This release includes notable additions such as the foxglove-bridge 3.2.6 for improved visualization, fuse 1.3.1 for sensor fusion, and new packages for MuJoCo simulation (mujoco-ros2-control 0.0.2) and human-robot interaction (hri-msgs 2.3.2). The sync also introduces tools like data-tamer-tools 0.4.0 for performance monitoring and greenwave-monitor 1.0.0 for system health tracking.
While 53 packages were removed to minimize regressions, the ROS team prioritized this sync to unblock the upcoming Kilted release. Removed packages are expected to return in future syncs after maintainers apply fixes. The update also includes new packages for resource retrieval, logging (rcl-logging-syslog 0.1.2), and network bridging (network-bridge 3.0.0). This sync is tagged as rolling/2026-04-28 and is available for immediate use.
