Users have documented widgets for real-time weather, an embedded calculator, interactive maps, product comparison cards, movie trailers, sports scores, live financial data, holiday calendars, and a new attachment feature for large text blocks. These widgets are not instantly callable like standalone apps but are intelligently surfaced by the model when a user's query implies a need for them, such as asking "What's the weather today?" or "Calculate my mortgage."

This rollout, observed across multiple user accounts, suggests a strategic expansion beyond pure text generation. The stock widget, for example, displays numbers that change in real-time, indicating direct API integrations. While some features like maps require browser location permissions, the overall direction is clear: OpenAI is embedding actionable tools and live data retrieval directly into the conversational flow. This transforms ChatGPT from a conversational AI into a more capable agentic platform, reducing the need for users to leave the chat to access calculators, look up maps, or check financial markets.
