Motorola reveals 2026 Razr lineup with modest upgrades and higher prices

The Razr line expands with a larger foldable, but prices jump across the board.

Deep Dive

Motorola is expanding its foldable lineup significantly in 2026, announcing four Razr devices launching on May 21. The headline addition is the Razr Fold, the company's first tablet-style foldable, priced at $1,900. It features an 8.1-inch inner LTPO OLED display (120 Hz) and a 6.6-inch external pOLED screen (165 Hz), powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. The 6,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery supports 80W wired and 50W wireless charging, and the triple 50MP rear cameras include a Sony Lytia primary sensor with 2.44μm pixels. It also supports the optional $99 Moto Stylus, a feature Samsung has dropped from its foldables.

Alongside the Fold, Motorola is updating its flip-style Razr line with three models: the Razr ($800), Razr+ ($1,100), and Razr Ultra ($1,500). These get incremental upgrades like faster refresh rates (up to 165 Hz on external displays), larger batteries (up to 5,000 mAh on the Ultra), and improved cameras, but prices have increased across the board due to rising component costs. The Razr Ultra uses a Snapdragon 8 Elite "Pro" chip, while the base Razr uses a MediaTek Dimensity 7450X. All four run Android 16 and support Sub-6 GHz 5G. The Razr Fold will initially be available unlocked, and the entire lineup launches on May 21.
