AI Shortcuts Help Drones Learn Faster and Fly Smarter

Researchers introduced a modular deep Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) that simplifies building different RNN architectures and automatically computes derivatives for learning. Their design adds feedforward inter-layer connections to a multi-layer RNN, significantly improving its ability to learn high-order dynamics and nonlinearities while also easing the vanishing/exploding gradient problem.
