Meta's Zuckerberg: AI speeds up app development, but no metrics yet

He cited Instagram Instants, Forum, and the recently launched Seller as evidence of a renewed push to ship consumer apps faster. However, Meta did not specify how extensively AI was used in each product, nor did it quantify productivity improvements, staff reductions, or code quality and security outcomes. According to TechCrunch, Meta is also building an AI bedtime-story reader and a prediction-market app, signaling more experiments ahead.

For enterprise technology leaders, Meta's experience offers an early glimpse of how AI could reshape development cycles, but it remains unclear whether faster output translates into lower costs and reliable software. Investors are pressing Meta for proof that its massive data center and AI infrastructure spending will generate returns.
