ChatGPT Now Writes Your Docs and Slides At Work

OpenAI just held its annual DevDay event, and the big news is that ChatGPT is no longer just a chatbot — it wants to be the place where you actually get work done. The centerpiece is called ChatGPT Space: a shared digital room where you, your teammates, and AI assistants collaborate on the same files. Think of it like a Google Doc, except one of your "coworkers" is an AI that can be tagged in comments, given feedback, and told to revise things while you watch.

Two new tools live inside that Space. Pages are documents, and Slides are presentations — both built so humans and AI can edit them at the same time. You can ask ChatGPT to research a topic, drop in images, or design slides conversationally, and you can import your own templates. When you're done, you can present straight from ChatGPT or export to PowerPoint or Google — supposedly without the formatting falling apart. Pages is available now; Slides is coming in the next few weeks, but only for paid Pro, Business, and Enterprise users on desktop and web.

The most interesting part for companies is Private Intelligence, a new security layer. The biggest reason businesses avoid AI is fear that confidential information leaks. OpenAI says this feature would let its staff run safety reviews without ever seeing your underlying content, similar to what Apple offers with its Private Cloud Compute.

So what does this mean for you? If your job involves writing reports, drafting proposals, or building slide decks, the busywork could shrink dramatically. But it also means OpenAI is moving directly onto Google's turf — and boss-level decisions about which tools your company pays for may be coming soon.
