Anthropic's Claude Opus 5 on AWS delivers agentic coding and zero data retention

Today, Anthropic announced the availability of Claude Opus 5 on Amazon Bedrock and Claude Platform on AWS. This is Anthropic's most capable Opus model and the first in its fifth generation. According to Anthropic, Claude Opus 5 delivers a meaningful step forward across production workflows including agentic coding, knowledge work, visual understanding, and long-running tasks. It matches Claude Fable 5's top-tier intelligence in many domains while maintaining Opus-tier economics. On Amazon Bedrock, the model benefits from zero data retention (ZDR) by default, allowing enterprises to leverage frontier intelligence without compromising data governance. The model is powered by Bedrock's next-generation inference engine, enabling users to build within their existing AWS environment, maintain security and data residency, and scale inference with zero operator access.

Claude Opus 5 represents a step-change in coding, understanding and navigating codebases like an experienced engineer and writing production-quality code while adapting its strategy. It powers dependable long-running agents that can work for hours or overnight, recovering from errors and finding paths around obstacles.
