IntentLint is a proof-of-concept system that supports human-AI collaborative data analysis by making analytic intent explicit and actionable. It introduces intent scaffolding and prompt-time linting: it infers analytic intent from shared notebooks, represents it as structured, editable rules, and checks users' prompts against those rules for potential conflicts. A study with 16 data analysts found that IntentLint improves awareness of collaborators' intent and encourages reflection on analytic strategies, offering design implications for more aligned and transparent human-AI collaboration.
