Ultrahuman's M2 Live brings no-prescription CGM to US at $99/month

Ultrahuman, the Indian wearable health startup, has launched M2 Live in the US, a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) platform that does not require a prescription. Announced on June 18, M2 Live uses Abbott's over-the-counter Lingo CGM — available for adults 18+ not on insulin — to track real-time glucose responses to food, exercise, stress, and sleep. The platform replaces Ultrahuman's earlier M1 Live, which required a prescription for Abbott's Freestyle Libre. Pricing starts at $99 per month for a subscription (two 14-day sensors) or $129 for a one-time month. Ultrahuman notes 77.1% of Lingo biosensors last the full 14 days.

M2 Live integrates with Ultrahuman's ecosystem, including the Ultrahuman Ring, to combine glucose data with other health signals like sleep stages, heart rate variability, skin temperature, and activity levels. The company's Jade AI engine analyzes these data points to generate a daily Metabolic Score, Food Score, Fueling Score, and spike detection alerts. Users can also access the platform without an Ultrahuman device, though deeper analysis requires the ring. The platform is designed for wellness and metabolic health tracking, not medical treatment.

The launch lowers the cost and accessibility of CGMs, potentially expanding their use beyond diabetics to general consumers, employers, and wellness programs. However, it raises privacy and compliance questions if employers or third parties use glucose data for incentives or health decisions. Ultrahuman's move reflects a broader industry shift from simple activity trackers to integrated AI-powered biomarker platforms, making metabolic data a new frontier in workplace wellness and personal health technology.
