Kelvin Tan of 99 Old Trees Durian explained that overlapping harvest waves from both states created the temporary surplus, but the window for cheap durians is now closing.

Consumers who have been waiting for even lower prices may be disappointed. Both sellers predict that the era of deep discounts will not return soon, as supply normalizes and demand remains high in Singapore. The advice from vendors is clear: 'If you want to eat durians, better eat them now already.' The coming weeks will likely see a return to typical pricing, with premium varieties like Mao Shan Wang once again commanding a premium.
