Amazon's Cloud AI Can Now Read a Million Words at Once
Your company's paperwork could get read, checked and cited in one shot.
August was a big month for Amazon Bedrock, the AWS service used by more than 225,000 active customers. OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra, and Luna now support million-token context windows with prompt caching, and Web Search lets them find current information, incorporate relevant results, and provide citations. Cross-Region inference makes those models available from more than 25 AWS Regions, while IAM principal cost allocation and AWS Cost Anomaly Detection help you attribute and monitor inference spend. OpenAI also announced lower pricing across the GPT-5.6 family on Amazon Bedrock. For security teams, OpenAI's Daybreak Blue and Daybreak Red are now available to eligible customers on Amazon Bedrock.
- Amazon's Bedrock AI service now handles roughly 750,000 words in one go — enough to read an entire codebase or contract set.
- The AI can look things up on the live web and cite its sources, so answers aren't stuck at its training date.
- New cost-tracking tools show which department is spending what on AI, plus price cuts from OpenAI on the newest models.
