HP's 2026 business PCs bring Intel Core Ultra AI to flexible work

HP's 2026 commercial PC refresh targets a workforce that no longer defaults to the office desk. The lineup, introduced at HP Imagine 2026, spans Intel-powered versions of the EliteBook 8 G2, EliteBook 6 G2, ProBook 4 G2, and EliteDesk 8 G2 families. The flagship EliteBook 8 Flip G2i is a 13-inch convertible supporting laptop, tablet, tent, and stand modes, complete with a garaged pen for note-taking. It's configurable with up to 64GB of LPDDR5x memory and 2TB of SSD storage, plus Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and optional 5G connectivity. HP positions the EliteBook 8 G2 for knowledge workers and creators, while the EliteBook 6 G2 offers flexible configurations for enterprises and public-sector organizations that need to standardize devices at scale.

The new systems run on Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, which pair performance cores, efficiency cores, and a built-in neural processing unit for up to 50 NPU TOPS of local AI acceleration. Selected models qualify for Intel vPro, bringing remote management and hardware-based security features to IT teams. HP's ProBook 4 G2 series, including the ProBook 4 Flip G2i, targets growing SMBs that want touchscreen flexibility without the EliteBook price point. The EliteDesk 8 G2 desktops cover fixed office deployments, combining HP Wolf Security for Business with space-efficient form factors. HP says the EliteBook 8 G2, ProBook 4 G2, and EliteDesk 8 G2 began rolling out in April, with the EliteBook 6 G2 following in June. IT buyers should note that AI features, Arc graphics, Wi-Fi 7, and vPro availability vary by configuration, so careful spec-by-spec review is essential.
