Apple has seeded the iPadOS 27 public beta, giving users early access to the tablet OS unveiled at WWDC 2026. The beta introduces significant enhancements centered on Apple Intelligence, including a smarter Siri with better contextual understanding, new image editing capabilities powered by on-device AI, and revamped Safari features such as intelligent tab grouping and improved reader mode. Users can install the beta by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update on a compatible iPad and enabling Beta Updates. Apple strongly recommends backing up the device beforehand, as beta software may contain bugs and stability issues.
The public beta is available for a wide range of iPads: iPad Pro (M4 and later, plus 4th gen 12.9-inch and 2nd gen 11-inch), iPad Air (13-inch M2, 11-inch M2/M3/M4, 4th gen and later), iPad (A16 and 9th gen and later), and iPad mini (A17 Pro and 6th gen and later).
