Heurist's AI Chat Brings Wall Street Research to Regular Investors

Heurist Finance, a financial technology startup, has built an AI investment workbench that runs on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, Amazon's platform for building AI agents (software that can take actions on its own). Its flagship product puts Wall Street-style research into a single chat window: ask a question and the system gathers market prices, reads regulatory filings and news, runs deep research, builds portfolios, stress-tests them, and monitors your positions. Crucially, every answer is tailored to your own holdings and preferences — not generic advice scraped off a website.

The money problem is the interesting part. Professional-grade market, economic, and alternative data normally sits behind expensive paywalls and year-long corporate contracts — impossible for a small startup to justify. So Heurist buys data one query at a time. Each question gets a payment session with a spending cap. When a data provider asks to be paid, the system checks the price against that cap, and if it fits, pays automatically in USDC (a digital dollar) on the Base blockchain. If the charge would blow the budget, it tells the user and suggests alternatives.

Behind the scenes, the heavy analysis runs in a sealed sandbox that shuts down when finished, so code can't wander the internet or linger. Identity, memory, and tracing tools keep every action tied to a specific user, session, and request — meaning answers can be audited later. Credentials live in a secure vault and are fetched only when needed.

The catch: this is a technical write-up about how the system was built, not a broad consumer launch, so availability and pricing for regular users aren't clear. Handing money decisions to AI also carries familiar risks — models can misread data or be confidently wrong, and crypto-based payments raise regulatory and tax questions most investors would rather not think about.
