House of the Dragon S3 trailer promises dragon war, blood, and fire
Season 3 opens with the brutal Battle of the Gullet and Rhaenyra's throne reclaimation.
HBO released the first trailer for House of the Dragon season 3, picking up immediately after season 2’s quiet finale. The trailer opens mid-battle, with Daemon fighting on the ground as dragons torch the landscape. Alicent warns Aemond that Rhaenyra is coming to King’s Landing, and Rhaenyra is shown reclaiming her throne—though a whisper campaign paints her as “weak and unsuited to rule.” The third season promises the spectacular Battle of the Gullet, which was cut from season 2’s eight-episode run.
Returning cast members include Emma D’Arcy (Rhaenyra), Tom Glynn-Carney (Aegon II), Ewan Mitchell (Aemond), Olivia Cooke (Alicent), and Matt Smith (Daemon). New additions include James Norton as Ormund Hightower, Tommy Flanagan as Roderick Dustin, and Dan Fogler as Torrhen Manderly. Season 3 premieres on HBO on June 21, 2026, and a fourth and final season is already in development.
