Hong Kong police arrest minibus driver after fatal collision kills cyclist

Hong Kong police arrested a 74-year-old minibus driver on Friday morning for dangerous driving causing death after his vehicle fatally struck a cyclist in Ta Kwu Ling. The collision happened at approximately 6:27am on Man Kam To Road near Hung Kiu San Tsuen. The driver was heading towards Sheung Shui when he reportedly failed to brake in time, hitting the cyclist. Emergency responders found the cyclist unconscious with severe head injuries and transported him to North District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:59am. The driver was initially detained for questioning before being formally arrested for dangerous driving causing death. A 43-year-old female passenger in the minibus also sustained waist pain and was taken to the same hospital.
