Samsung finally gave the public a first look at its AI-powered smart glasses during Unpacked 2026, revealing four real-world frame designs co-developed with Google, Gentle Monster, and Warby Parker. The glasses run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chip (matching Meta's latest Ray-Bans) and pack a 9-hour battery life, with the accompanying charging case adding up to seven more full charges — beating Meta's current offerings. Key AI features are powered by Google Gemini or Samsung's Bixby, enabling message summaries, live translation, navigation guidance, and real-time camera analysis.
However, the glasses face the same privacy hurdles as Meta's, with a recording LED that can be detected if blocked — Samsung's executive vice president Jaein Choi told Bloomberg the company is aware of the "industry-shared problem" of glasses being branded "pervert glasses." Samsung hasn't announced pricing yet but described them as "premium." Four frame styles are available now, with more designs promised. The glasses will launch this fall 2026, directly competing with Meta's Ray-Ban and Oakley collaborations.
