GurukulAI is a new free AI tutor built specifically for Indian students in grades 9–12. Unlike general AI tools, it’s trained on Indian textbooks (NCERT) and understands local exam formats. It speaks both Hindi and English, so students can ask questions in the language they’re most comfortable with.
The platform uses RAG (letting AI look things up) to give accurate answers based on school subjects like math, science, and history. It’s not just a chatbot — it can quiz students, explain tough concepts, and clear doubts instantly, like having a patient teacher on demand.
The team behind GurukulAI created a dataset of 18,720 Indian curriculum questions to train the AI. They used an open-source AI model (LLaMA 3.1 8B) and made the platform free and open for anyone to use. It’s designed to help students prepare better for exams without needing extra coaching.
