Google's Android Update Fights Motion Sickness and Finds Your Lost Items

Google just announced five new Android features that make your phone more helpful in everyday life. The standout is Motion Assist, designed for people who feel queasy reading or scrolling in a moving car. It places a small bubble on your screen that moves with the vehicle's motion, reducing the disconnect between what your eyes see and what your body feels. If you've ever felt sick looking at your phone in the backseat, this could be a lifesaver. It works on Android 17 and lets you customize the bubble's shape, color, and transparency.

Another feature, Guided Vision, is made for blind or low-vision users. Point your camera at a menu, a food label, or an object, and Google's Gemini AI will read the small print or identify it out loud. It can even guide you to move the phone the right way if the camera isn't aimed correctly. This is a big step toward making everyday tasks like shopping or reading medicine bottles easier for people with vision loss. It works on Android 9 and newer where Gemini is available.

Google is also helping you remember where you put important things. A new "remembered items" section in Find Hub lets you tell Gemini, "My passport is in the bedroom drawer," and it saves that note for later. You can attach a photo too. Plus, Google Messages is getting more personal: you can share grocery lists, vacation plans, and edit them together inside a chat. You'll also be able to customize chats with backgrounds and colors.

The catch? Some features feel like catch-up to Apple, which already has similar tools. And not everyone will get everything right away — Motion Assist requires Android 17, and Guided Vision depends on Gemini availability. Still, these updates show Google is using AI to solve real, everyday discomforts and problems.
