Cohere has announced North, a comprehensive AI business platform designed for enterprise use. North enables organizations to deploy AI agents that operate in lockstep with people, data, and tools. The platform focuses on three core capabilities: advanced search and retrieval (turning basic Q&A into complex decision-making grounded in internal data), generative AI (co-creating documents, summaries, tables, and charts), and workflow automation (deploying AI agents across teams to eliminate tedious tasks and accelerate complex workflows). North aims to move beyond simple chatbots by providing a scalable, secure workspace where teams can automate work and accelerate decisions.

Security and customization are central to North's enterprise appeal. The platform offers private deployment options including in a customer's own VPC, on-premises environment, or via Cohere's secure Model Vault inference platform.
